The government run telecom operator is coming up with ergonomic and high-speed broadband and gsm plans. Now BSNL has launched an Ultra speed 100G Next Generation Optical Transport Network (NG-OTN) technology based internet service.
The 1000Mbps broadband service is currently implemented in three phases with an investment of Rs 330 Crore. The NG-OTN technology currently covers 44 cities including state capitals and major cities. Minister of State Communications Manoj Sinha stated that total 100 Major cities will be covered in he next phases of the project during the current financial year.
BSNL currently offers a Maximmum speed of 100 Mbps via the FTTH network and for the fixed line broadband subscribers BSNL offers a maximmum speed of 24 Mbps. NOw the company will be able to provide internet with a speed of 1000 Mbps and this will be a game changer for BSNL.
Another attractive feature of NG-OTN apart from the speed is that it has inbilt sensors to track any damages in the optical fibre cables and this is really helpful in repairing and restoring the internet service in quick time.
Currently Jio is the only tough competitor fot BSNL., But even Jio do not provide such ultra speed internet. Jio`s Jio Fiber network is currently active in six cities Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara.The Jio Fibel service will be commercialy launched in India during Diwali. Jio Fiber provides a maximmum speed of 100 Mbps. The preview offer of Jio Fiber gives users a mimimmum of 100GB data per month for three months at a price of Rs 500.
